MINDSOURCE
Clinical Test Results
MINDSOURCE was clinically tested at the University of Louisville in Kentucky, under the supervision of Gail C. Mornhinweg, PhD, RN, for its effects on a controlled number of subjects. MINDSOURCE was found to "significantly" reduce stress in those individuals tested. Some of the stated findings of this test follow:
"Dyspnea, feelings of shortness of breath, was significantly decreased meaning that individuals with pulmonary disease no longer feel/perceive themselves as being short of breath or unable to breathe."
"Anxiety, feelings of nervousness, was significantly decreased. Previous studies have shown that with an increase in anxiety, heart rate increases, so we might presume that heart rate would decrease. A mean heart rate decrease was measured at 5 beats per minute on those subjects tested."
Comments from some of the individuals who participated in the study:
"This form of relaxation lets me take my mind to places I want to go. I found it induces relaxation, calm, sense of peace. You forget all about your breathing. Lessens tension."
"Favorite things - ocean and waterfall. The sound of the ocean can put me to sleep. I almost fell asleep."
"The videos are well put together and I hope someone will benefit from its rewards. The scenery was beautiful, very relaxing. Very relaxing, soothing, enjoyable."
"I could use instead of sleeping medication, at different points I felt I could easily fall asleep."
"Peaceful. Very calming. Beautiful scenery. Would go to sleep if in a recliner."
"Very comforting. Can put you to sleep."
"The videos were very pleasant to look at and it made my mind at ease watching the blend of nature with sounds made it very relaxing to the mind and soul."
"I think there are real possibilities for therapy in this field of imagery and sound. I also think patients who have experienced severe COPD problems tend to increase tension, feelings of being uptight, etc., in their lives. This whole area of therapy seems full of promise to lessen these undesirable feelings."
"I liked the sound and vision the most because it required me to do nothing - the sound and vision was created for me. The sound alone brought other visions and thoughts crept in - all thought was answered by video."
